All about the theory test - B-körkort
The test for b-körkort isn't hard if you know what's coming. The problem is that most people walk in without knowing what it looks like, how hard the clock presses, or which questions catch people out. Here is the full picture. Read it before you book.

70 questions in 50 minutes. Five don't count. You are scored on 65 and need 52 correct.

The test is booked and taken at the Swedish Transport Administration. Always check current rules, prices and requirements with them. They decide, not us.
What is tested
The questions are spread across six areas. The app measures you on each area separately, so you can see in black and white where the points are leaking.
Traffic rules
Priority rules (give way), the right-hand rule, junctions, roundabouts, overtaking, positioning on the road, stopping and parking. The largest part of the test, and where most people lose points.
Road signs and signals
Warning signs, priority signs, prohibitory signs, mandatory signs, information signs, supplementary panels, road markings, traffic lights and police signals.
Road safety
Stopping distance, reaction time, speed and impact forces, driving in the dark, slippery roads, following distance, vulnerable road users, at the scene of an accident.
Vehicle knowledge and handling
Tyres, brakes, lights, warning lamps, loads and weights, trailers, inspection and insurance.
Environment
Eco-driving, fuels, emissions and how your driving style affects consumption.
The driver
Fatigue, alcohol and drugs, stress and peer pressure, eyesight and other senses, young and older drivers, penalties and consequences.

2. Practise with explanations

3. Take full mock tests
70 questions in 50 minutes, with no answers until you hand it in. Repeat until your score is steady.
4. Reach the Ready level
60 out of 65 within the time, ten tests in a row. That's when you book, not before.
A passed theory test is only valid for a limited time
The theory test and the driving test belong together: once you pass the theory you have to pass the driving test before the result expires, otherwise you have to take the theory test again. When this page was written, the validity period was four months from a passed theory test.
Always check the current validity period with the Swedish Transport Administration before you plan. It is a government rule and it can change.
In practice: don't book the theory test long before your driving lessons are wrapped up. If you pass the theory but don't get through the driving test in time, you pay and revise all over again.
Slots hard to come by? Book ahead.
Test slots can be fully booked for weeks ahead. Book an early slot so you have one, and cancel at least 24 hours before if you realise you aren't ready. That saves you both a pointless wait and a test you wouldn't have passed.
